Mordecai Honored
The king could not sleep and asked for the chronicles of history to be read to him. When he heard the story of how Mordecai had foiled the assassination attempt against him, he asked what had been done to honor him. He then asked who was in the court and it was Haman. He had him summoned and asked Haman what could be done to honor someone who the King wanted to elevate. Haman, thinking the king was referring to him said he should give him a fine robe and place him on the Kings horse and parade him through the city. The king then instructed Haman to do this for Mordecai.
