Ezekiel 5

Ezekiel is instructed to shave his head and beard and divide the hair into thirds with a scale. Each third represents the judgment the LORD will deliver to Jerusalem because of their sin. A third will die by famine or plague, a third will die by sword outside the walls, and a third will be scattered to the wind and pursued by sword.
