This continuation of Ezekiel’s vision has 6 men with deadly instruments and one with writing implements going through Jerusalem and marking all those who are troubled by the sin and other detestable practices and then the six men being commanded to slay all who had not been marked.

God gives Ezekiel a new vision where he is transported back to Jerusalem and God shows him the idolatry and other detestable practices being committed by the elders of Israel.

The LORD pronounces destruction on Israel for their sins and detestable practices. Those in the city will die of famine and plague while those outside will die by the sword. They will be judged by their own actions, against their own standards.

God emphasizes accountability to Ezekiel. If you take this message and it’s refused, that is their fault. But if you don’t speak, that is your fault. I need this same conviction when it comes to sharing the gospel.

The keyword in this chapter is rebellious. God emphasizes that Ezekiel is being sent to a rebellious people.

This introduces an amazing scene revealed to Ezekiel. We get a taste of something truly amazing and a glimpse into the throne room of God. As Ezekiel describes what he sees, I get the feeling Ezekiel has been given a glimpse of modern technology.
